Convert Word to PDF inside a MOSS Workflow

MOSS Workflows are great for Document Management process. There are many OOTB DMS templates in MOSS and you could leverage those activities with SharePoint Designer. I had a customer that wanted a process that used the Docx file format for authoring/approving the document and convert it to PDF file format before sending outside of the organization. My first idea was to use the Office 2007 capabilities in converting Word to PDF. You can do it easily in the Save As dialog so coding this shouldn't be a problem ...

How to get currently logged-in user in workflow

You will always have simple requirement whenever you are working with workflow is to find the currently logged-in user.
It is really frustrating that it is easy to find who is the originator of the workflowproperties but you cannot find who is currently logged in user from workflowproperties even you have properties available.

How to deploy a page layout with all the bells and whistles

If you have ever had anything to do with a MOSS publishing site then you are familiar with page layouts. Basically the usual way to deploy these to a site collection is through a feature that will put your ASP files into the master page gallery. One thing I have noticed is that when this gets done there are usually some pretty easy to do things that tend to get over looked that will make your page layouts look to fit in a bit more with the out of the box ones, things like thumbnails and descriptions. So I thought I would put this together to show you how you can deploy a page layout with these things.
